THE STUDIOS

WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE ENTRANCE

Our entrance is wheelchair accessible, however it’s worth noting the surface has uneven concrete in places and a slight gap.

GROUND FLOOR

All downstairs rehearsal spaces have built in ramps (Metal, Book, Glam, Elvis, Floyd, Milne, Ladies, Deville, Turner)

SECOND FLOOR

For upstairs bookings (Jezebel, The Belfry and Scrap Museum) you can use our elevator to transport passengers and heavy equipment to the second floor. To locate the elevator, enter via Lt Hoddle St, go through the driveway area and turn left once reaching the courtyard. The elevator can hold 1.150 tons per load, and is 2 metres deep x 1.3 metres wide x 2.2 metres high. Please check in with staff before loading the lift.

The upstairs rehearsal spaces can also be accessed via one flight of stairs. These stairs have a railing on one side of the staircase.

LOADING

There are trolleys in the driveway area which can be used for loading gear into the spaces. For upstairs loading, heavy equipment can be loaded into the elevator which is located to the left of the courtyard. Once upstairs, the elevator opens to the left of the Scrap Museum, and there is a short walk to the Jezebel and Belfry rooms via walkway/corridor. For any queries on loading heavy equipment, please see staff.

TOILETS

Bakehouse is currently undergoing plans to install a wheelchair accessible downstairs toilet, to be located next to the Lt Hoddle St entryway.

There are currently two bathrooms at Bakehouse: one downstairs with a small cubicle, located near the office & downstairs kitchen on the ground floor, and another upstairs next to the Scrap Museum (with 2x cubicles). We’re in the process of planning upgrades to these spaces to ensure they are wheelchair accessible, thanks for your patience.

GUIDE DOGS AND SERVICE DOGS

Guide dogs and service dogs are welcome in the venue. Please speak to someone in the office if you would like water for your guide dog.

SPECIAL REQUESTS

If you have any special requests please let our friendly staff know and they’ll do their best to assist. This may include: moving tables/chairs for access, lighting adjustments or finding a quiet space. We can also organise a tactile tour ahead of time in the studios.
